More than a dozen McDonald’s restaurants have been forced to temporarily close their doors across the Gold Coast.
It’s understood the sudden closure is due to the recent flood crisis across southeast Queensland and northern NSW, with the disaster hampering supplies.
At least 13 stores have closed in the last few days, with stock running out at the Brisbane distribution centre.
Customers have been advised of the changes on the McDonald’s website, with notices also being put on the front glass doors of individual stores.
“Sorry this restaurant is closed,” a notice at the Palm Beach restaurant reads.
“Your next closest restaurant is Tugun and Burleigh Waters.
“Apologies for this inconvenience”.
The company has reassured customers that it is working closely with local suppliers to try and reopen stores in the coming days.
According to the fast-food chain’s website, the following McDonald’s restaurants remain closed.

Meantime, McDonald’s has also announced it’s temporarily closing all of its 850 restaurants in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
“Our values mean we cannot ignore the needless human suffering unfolding in Ukraine,” McDonald’s President and CEO Chris Kempckinski said
The company said it will continue to pay its 62,000 employees in Russia.
