The wet weather conditions have caused a couple of crashes on the Gold Coast overnight.
Four people were involved in a nasty crash in the hinterland, with one needing to be hospitalised.
The car they were travelling in lost control and smashed into a tree in Tamborine.
It happened along Tamborine Mountain Road just after 12.30 am.
Four patients were assessed by paramedics at the scene, with one transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for precaution.
Meanwhile an hour earlier, a man was hospitalised after smashing his car into a pole in Mermaid Waters.
The car careened off Hooker Boulevard and Rio Vista Boulevard around 11.40pm.
Paramedics transported the male driver Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
