LATEST @ 5.00 PM | Authorities have deemed a blue powder that sparked a scare at an Australia Post parcel delivery centre on the northern Gold Coast as non-suspicious.

Multiple emergency crews raced to the facility along Christensen Road in Stapylton just after 3.00pm on Tuesday after a worker made the suss discovery.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel cordoned off the scene as they undertook investigations.

A QFES spokesperson has confirmed to myGC that it has since been deemed a non-threatening substance, with crews giving it the all-clear.

EARLIER @ 4.15 PM | An Australia Post parcel delivery centre on the northern Gold Coast has been evacuated after a package containing a blue powder was found.

It’s understood a worker came across the suspicious substance at the facility along Christensen Road in Stapylton around 3.00pm on Tuesday.

Multiple emergency crews rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel donning hazmat suits are currently sampling the powder to determine exactly what it is.

The person who came into contact with the substance is also being assessed by paramedics, however is stable.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to myGC they are fortunately not showing any symptoms at this stage.

Investigations continue.
