A man has been charged with murder after the body of a Queensland mother was discovered following a horrific house fire.

Emergency crews were called to the property at Geham, north of Toowoomba, just before 3am on Tuesday following reports of a large blaze.

Upon arrival, they found the home completely engulfed in flames.

During a search of the property, authorities sadly located the body of a woman, believed to be Louise Hunt, however her remains are yet to be formally identified.

Two children were also found uninjured near the house.

A crime scene was immediately declared with police deeming the inferno as suspicious.

Following investigations, a 45-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s husband, was located by police at a Redcliffe address later that afternoon.
