A man has been charged after crashing into a wall while allegedly drunk.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Cotlew St and Benowa Rd in Southport around 9.35pm on Tuesday night after a grey Range Rover struck a wall.

The 36-year-old driver suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Upper Mount Gravatt man has since been charged with driving under the influence of liquor.

He is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on October 8.
