Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76.
The Black Sabbath frontman passed away in Birmingham, surrounded by his family.
His wife Sharon and his five of his children sharing an emotional statement confirming his death.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Affectionately known as the Prince of Darkness, Osbourne was a pioneer of heavy metal music, rising to prominence as the frontman for Black Sabbath in the 1970s.
Osbourne was fired from the band in 1979 before going on to pursue a solo career.
His death comes just weeks after Black Sabbath reunited for a charity concert that saw Osbourne seated in a large black throne.
Osbourne also earned a new generation of fans when he and his family starred in the MTV hit reality series The Osbournes in the early 200s.
Ozzy had been battling Parkinson’s Disease for several years combined with other health problems.
