A man has been arrested after a suspicious item was discovered at a propety in Arundel.

Police rushed to the location on Allied Drive around 8.45pm on Sunday following reports a “suspicious item” had been left there.

The Explosive Ordnance Response Team quickly responded and deemed the device safe, ensuring there was no danger to surrounding properties.

A 34-year-old Labrador man was later taken into custody.

He has since been charged with bomb hoax, trespass and obstruct.

The man was remanded in custody to front court today.
