A second person involved in the shocking murder of Gold Coast police officer Damian Leeding has died, leaving only one of the three criminals still alive.
Donna Lee McAvoy, jailed for life over the 2011 Pacific Pines Tavern shooting, died on Monday after being released into palliative care.
Her death follows the passing of the main offender, Phillip Graeme Abell, who died of liver cancer in September 2023.
Abell shot Senior Constable Leeding at point-blank during a botched armed robbery, with the 35-year-old dying in hospital just three days later.
The only surviving member of the gang is getaway driver Benjamin Ernest Power, who was sentenced to nine years for manslaughter.
He was controversially granted parole in 2019, before being rearrested just months later on a return-to-prison warrant.
