Two men have been arrested over a violent Gold Coast home invasion that’s left one man fighting for his life in hospital.
Police say the pair allegedly forced their way into a property on Dugandan Street in Nerang around 3.30am on Thursday.
Once inside, they’re accused of assaulting a 58-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman.
The 58-year-old sustained wounds to his lower back and was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
While the 32-year-old was taken stable after suffering a laceration to the back of her head.
Police arrived a short time later and arrested the two men, believed to be aged in their 30s.
A crime scene has been declared at the property and investigations are underway.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or who may have relevant vision to come forward.
