A man has been charged after allegedly driving dangerously across parts of the Gold Coast while under the influence.
Police received multiple reports of a Ford Ranger swerving across lanes of the Gold Coast Highway through Southport and Surfers Paradise around 1.40pm on Tuesday.
The vehicle was tracked by CCTV cameras to Broadbeach, where it was spotted on Old Burleigh Rd.
Officers then intercepted the vehicle on Second Ave a short time later.
The driver was taken into custody and taken to hospital for assessment.
He has since been charged with driving under the influence and possessing utensils or pipes for use.
The 48-year-old Carrara man will front Southport Magistrates Court on October 8.
