Mandy Moore, known for her roles as a pop icon, television star, and film actress, has one big dream she’s yet to fulfill: performing on Broadway. The “Candy” singer recently spoke with People about her aspirations, revealing that stepping onto the Broadway stage is still at the top of her career bucket list.
“One day doing Broadway, doing theater, is sort of what remains on a pedestal for me,” Mandy explained. While the idea of live performances every night is nerve-wracking, she finds it equally exciting. “It terrifies me, but also the idea of it thrills me more than anything. So one day, hopefully, that will come to fruition. We’ll see.”
Best known for her iconic role in A Walk to Remember, Mandy Moore hasn’t set her sights on a specific Broadway role just yet. She’s keeping her options open for when the right project comes along. “Maybe it’s something original, maybe it’s a revival of something. I’m kind of open to right place, right time, whatever it is,” she shared.
Broadway dreams aside, Mandy Moore is a household name in both music and entertainment. From her early days as a 2000s pop star to her acclaimed acting career, she’s built an impressive résumé. Last year, she opened up on the Las Culturistas podcast, reflecting on her time as a young pop star and navigating the “pop idol” culture of the early 2000s.
Last week Mandy posted about how much of an honour it was to work with the late Diane Keaton on hearing news of her passing.
