A woman is fighting for life in hospital after falling from a moving campervan on the southern Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to Douglas Street in Coolangatta around 2pm on Tuesday following reports an individual had fallen from a moving vehicle.
Upon arrival, they found a 50-year-old woman suffering a significant head injury.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Police say the driver of the campervan, a 50-year-old man, completed a roadside drug test and provided a positive saliva analysis which indicated the presence of drugs.
The man was charged with drug driving, and is expected to appear before Coolangatta Magistrate’s Court on 9 February.
