Police are investigating a nasty crash between a motorbike and car in Southport that’s left a teenager with a significant leg injury.

A Yamaha motorbike and grey Toyota Corolla collided at the intersection of Queen Street and Southport State School Access Road around 10.15pm on Tuesday.

The rider, a 17-year-old Benowa boy suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition.

While the driver of the Toyota, a 61-year-old Southport man, suffered a shoulder injury and was also taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
