The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a toddler was hit by a car in Helensvale.
Police say a Toyota Kluger was driving on private property near Siganto Drive around 7.30pm on Thursday when it struck the youngster.
The little girl was treated at the scene by paramedics for facial and hip injuries before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Burpengary man, remained on scene and is assisting police.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dash cam vision to contact Policelink.
