A man has been charged after he was allegedly busted filming a woman inside the bathroom of an iconic pie shop on the northern Gold Coast.
Officers were called to Yatala Pies around 10.30am on Thursday following reports a man had followed a woman into the bathrooms and filmed her without her consent.
The 47-year-old is accused of placing the phone above the toilet cubicle while the woman was inside.
He then tried to flee the scene but was chased and taken down by a group of people in an extortionary citizens arrest captured on camera.
They then held the man until police arrived and took him into custody.
He’s since been charged with observations or recordings in breach of privacy.
He’s due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on 19 February.
