Oops… She’s in the news again.
Bad news for pop singer and noughts icon Britney Spears as she’s been arrested in California overnight over suspicions of her drinking and then driving. She was arrested at roughly 9:30pm on Wednesday night in Ventura County.
As of yet, Spears has made no comment, but a May 4th court date has been scheduled. This is far from her first encounter with the US courts system, fans may remember back in 2007 that Spears was involved and later charged with property damage, driving without a license and one count of hit and run.
Britney Spears rose to fame in the 2000’s after being apart of The Mickey Mouse Club on Disney, apart of the MTV world, and more importantly for her immense music career with massive cultural defining hits such ash as Baby One More Time, Toxic, and Oops! … I Did It Again. Though unfortunately much of her early life and career was plagued by an unhealthy media obsession the world had on her. During the 2000’s Spears was battling mental illness was fighting off paparazzi desperate to exploit the young singer.
It’s been nearly 10-years since her last full-length album, Glory, was released but Spears still manages to have a very active career in varying media. She’s recently written a bestselling memoir on her life and the experiences she’s been through titled The Woman in Me.
