However, she isn’t debuting on the silver screen. Instead, the 40-year-old singer has lent her iconic vocals to the official theme song for the upcoming video game, 007 First Light.
A Match Made in Cinematic Heaven
The track, titled “First Light”, is a collaboration with veteran Bond composer David Arnold, the maestro behind the scores of five Bond films, including Casino Royale. His involvement ensures that while the medium is a video game, the musical DNA is pure, unadulterated Bond.

007 First Light is set to be a reimagined origin story, following a young James Bond at the very beginning of his career in espionage. The lyrics to “First Light” mirror this theme of youthful recklessness and the weight of destiny.
In the opening verse, Del Rey sings:
“Your strength is your youth, just use it and follow the music play / Promise you’ll never change.”
The chorus leans into the classic Bond motif of danger and obsession, comparing the protagonist to a “moth to a flame.” It poses a haunting question that sits at the heart of the 007 mythos: “Will you play your life like a game?” It is a fitting inquiry for a character who famously treats international sabotage and high-stakes poker with the same cool detachment.
