Motorcyclist seriously injured in hit-run accident.

Police are hunting the driver of a car after fleeing the scene of an accident that left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Yamaha motorcycle were travelling on the Gold Coast Highway in Labrador around 11.10pm on Thursday night.

The vehicle and motorbike then collided near the intersection of Marine Parade.

The 22-year-old male rider of the motorbike suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Mitsubishi left the scene without stopping, with Police now working to locate that vehicle and the driver.

Investigations are continuing with anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone who has relevant vision urged to contact Police.
