A man has been charged with murder following the shooting death of a young woman on the Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Loder Street in Biggera Waters around 8pm on Sunday following reports a woman had suffered life-threatening gunshot injuries.
Upon arrival, they found a 23-year-old woman deceased at the scene.
A 23-year-old man was arrested without incident and has since been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence) and unlawful possession of weapons (category H) used to commit indictable offence (domestic violence).
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
“No other people were injured and there was no threat to the public,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
Investigations are ongoing.
