Big Brother is officially moving back home!
After years away, the reality TV juggernaut is set to film its next season at Dreamworld, the very place where it first captured Australia’s attention back in the early 2000s. For anyone who remembers those nights glued to live evictions or lining up at Dreamworld to catch a glimpse of the housemates, this news feels like stepping straight back into a sun‑drenched piece of Gold Coast history.
The original house once sat tucked behind the theme park, a pop‑culture landmark with flamingo statues by the pool, backyard spas and a live audience amphitheatre that roared every time a housemate was sent packing. After the show wrapped in 2014, the site fell into disrepair and was eventually demolished following damage and vandalism in 2019. Now, producers are building a completely new, purpose‑built house on the same grounds, reigniting that old spark.
Dreamworld has already been teasing the comeback with cryptic posts, and the production is set to inject fresh energy into the local scene with almost a hundred jobs and even paid internships for Queenslanders wanting to get their start in TV.
This reboot promises to bring back the Big Brother many remember: live nominations, live evictions, and round‑the‑clock streaming so fans can drop in on the drama at any time. And leading us through it all will be Mel Tracina, a self‑confessed Big Brother superfan who says the gig is a true “pinch‑me” moment.
Big Brother Australia is set to air on Channel 10 in late 2025, most likely launching in November, winding through to just before Christmas.
