The Aussie superstar is reportedly winding down a Hollywood venture he launched just four years ago.
Chris Hemsworth has spent the last few years doing what Chris Hemsworth does best: making movies, travelling the world and generally looking like he was built in a Hollywood laboratory.
But now, one of his behind-the-scenes ventures is coming to an end.
Hemsworth has reportedly shut down Wild State, the production company he launched with producer Ben Grayson in 2022. Staff have reportedly been told they will be paid through the end of 2026, while the company’s website has also disappeared.

It Wasn’t Exactly A Tiny Side Project
Wild State was involved in some pretty big productions, including Extraction 2, Crime 101 and the Disney+ series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.
The company also secured a first-look deal with National Geographic and previously announced a partnership with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity.
And perhaps most interestingly for us Aussies, Wild State had been developing a feature film and documentary project around the legendary Finke Desert Race.
That project was announced earlier this year, with filmmakers visiting the race and beginning development on a potential Hollywood movie.
So… Why Is He Closing It?
That’s where things get a little murky.
Reports have described the past few months as difficult for the company, with various claims about its management, potential partnerships and Hemsworth’s increasingly busy acting schedule.
One source described the decision as more of a “life choice”, saying Hemsworth remains proud of what Wild State achieved.
So it doesn’t necessarily mean Chris is completely walking away from producing. In fact, he’s still attached as a producer on Extraction 3.
It seems the 43-year-old has simply decided that running his own production company isn’t where he wants to spend his time right now.
