What’s the definition of insanity again?
Well another game series is now set to get the TV treatment. After the previous success with game to stream adaptations with shows like Fallout and The Last of Us, Ubisofts Far Cry is set to come to life on the small screen. FX has ordered a full series of the popular video game with Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney (now known as Rob Mac).
Rob Mac is set to star in the new series which will be streaming on Disney+ down here in Australia. As of right now no plot details have been revealed. All that we know so far is the show is set to be an anthology series, with a new story and new characters. They’ve not clarified if that means a new setting every episode or every season perhaps. However, new story every season would make more sense and more closely align to what the games do.
The news came from announcement made directly from Ubisoft, the developers behind the game. Via a post made to their social media pages Ubisoft shared:

“So uh… remember when we said FARCRY stories always escalate?
Yeah. FX took that personally.
A brand-new FARCRY anthology series is coming to Hulu with a whole new setting, new cast, and the exact level of chaos your therapist told you to avoid.
Good luck out there.”
We don’t yet know when we may expect to see the show jump onto our screens but it’s likely going to be in 2027 the earliest.
