Actor Lynne McGranger has capped off her 33 years on popular soap Home and Away, taking out the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian television.
The 72-year-old also took out the award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama as she prepares to farewell Summer Bay.
“Thirty-three years I’ve done this amazing show and I’m thrilled and honoured,” McGranger said
“I want to acknowledge all the other nominees, all the fierce women of all ages. And I’m the oldest! If you live as long as I have, it’s fantastic. And of course, the lovely Hamish – you’re a brave man. Thank you.”
McGranger also paid tribute to the viewers.
“To the fans, bloody hell. To all the fans who voted, thank you. For those of you out there who keep free-to-air TV alive – please keep doing what you’re doing.”
One of the more emotional moments of the night was Magda Szubanski’s induction into the Logies Hall of Fame.
Szubanski, who is battling cancer, was unable to be at the ceremony, but sent a heartfelt video message.
“The love and support I have felt has been overwhelming, and I have to tell you, it helps,” Szubanksi said.
“When I go online and look at those messages, every time, my heart lifts. And I feel that much stronger. To deal with the cancer. So thank you for the love that you are pouring my way, I really feel it,” she said.
