International Button Battery Awareness Day
We invite you to help raise awareness for International Button Battery Awareness Day which will be held on Thursday 12th of June 2025.
The aim of this initiative is to spread further awareness about the dangers of button batteries among schools, parents, caregivers and childhood educators through the delivery of an educational program designed for early childhood and primary school aged children.
Through the promotion of International Button Battery Awareness Day, it is our hope that together we can ensure all schools, early childhood centres, homes and workplaces are button battery safe.
In Australia thousands of children have suffered serious or lifelong injuries after swallowing or inserting a USED Battery. Some children have sadly died.
BATTCYCLE safely stores dangerous USED Button Batteries, keeping them out of children’s reach and household waste, ready for disposal and recycling complete with batteries inside.
BATTCYCLE, KIDSAFE Queensland and Harvey Norman ask that you search your home and workplace for any loose used button batteries collect a free BATTCYCLE from any Harvey Norman Store. Insert the used Button Batteries into your BATTCYCLE and dispose of them at a B-Cycle Accredited Drop off Point.
To honour the memory of those children who have passed away or been seriously injured by button batteries, we encourage individuals, schools, playgroups and Childcare centers, community centers and businesses to get involved.
