International Button Battery Awareness Day
We invite you to help raise awareness for International Button Battery Awareness Day which will be held on Friday 12th of June 2026.
The aim of this initiative is to spread further awareness about the dangers of button batteries among schools, parents, caregivers and childhood educators through the delivery of an educational program designed for early childhood and primary school aged children.
Through the promotion of International Button Battery Awareness Day, it is our hope that together we can ensure all schools, early childhood centres, homes and workplaces are button battery safe.
In Australia thousands of children have suffered serious or lifelong injuries after swallowing or inserting a USED Battery. Some children have sadly died.
BATTCYCLE safely stores dangerous USED Button Batteries, keeping them out of children’s reach and household waste, ready for disposal and recycling complete with batteries inside.
1029 Hot Tomato is proudly supporting International Battery Button Awareness Day, Friday 12th June, 2026.
Visit our reception at 60 High Street Southport to pick up a BATTCYCLE to keep your home and community safe.

To honour the memory of those children who have passed away or been seriously injured by button batteries, we encourage individuals, schools, playgroups and Childcare centers, community centers and businesses to get involved.
