A young driver has been charged after allegedly being caught three times over the legal alcohol limit following a crash on the northern Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to Discovery Drive in Helensvale just before midnight after a vehicle smashed into a parked car.
The 21-year-old male driver was detained on scene by police.
He was subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.
The man was then taken back to the local police station where he allegedly blew more than three times over the limit.
He’s since been charged with driving while under the influence of liquor.
