A delicate rescue operation is underway off the Gold Coast to try and save what’s believed to be a baby whale trapped in shark nets.
The calf become tangled in the nets off Kirra Beach earlier this afternoon, sparking a frantic rescue operation.
Sea World teams are currently out in the water trying to free the animal from the netting, while its distressed mother swims nearby.
