Balaclava-clad arsonist sparks suspicious tobacconist fire in Logan

A crime scene has been declared at a tobacconist in Logan following a suspicious early morning fire.

The blaze erupted at the business on Kingston Road in Slacks Creek around 4.30am on Friday, leaving the shop with a significant amount of damage.

Police say an unknown male wearing a balaclava allegedly forced entry into the business shortly before the fire began.

He was then seen getting into a vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Investigations into the blaze are now underway, with detectives appealing for anyone with relevant vision from the area at the time to come forward.
