Tributes are continuing to flow for a young Gold Coast mum killed in an alleged domestic violence shooting.
Mallorie Jane Roberts was found with fatal gunshot wounds at a unit on Loder Street in Biggera Waters around 8pm on Sunday night.
Her de factor partner, Ethan Sage Midgley, was arrested at the scene without incident and later charged with her murder as well as unlawful possession of weapons used to commit indictable offence.
Police allege the 23-year-old was killed with a homemade, unregistered firearm which was seized from the property.
Remembered by friends and family as a “kind spirit” who possessed a “beautiful heart,” the devastating loss of the young mother has sparked an outpouring of community support.
A GoFundMe page established by close friend Haylee Harris to assist Mallorie’s grieving family has quickly surpassed $5,000.
“Like so many others, I am heartbroken by the devastating loss of such a beautiful young mum,” Harris wrote online.
“Our hearts are shattered following the tragic loss of our beautiful Mallorie, whose life was taken far too soon”.
Mr Midgley, 23, did not appear when his matter was briefly mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court for the first time on Monday.
He did not apply for bail, with the case adjourned to July 10.
