A Gold Coast petrol station has reopened this morning after a dramatic crash caused it to close for nearly six hours.
A vehicle slammed into one of the petrol bowsers at the Caltex in Mudgeeraba around 8.30pm on Monday, sparking a major emergency response.
Fire crews had to isolate all of the bowsers at the station as they worked to contain and clean up the spill, which took around 90 minutes.
Bowsers were eventually brought back online around 2.30am this morning.
The timing of the crash could not have come at a worse time, with fuel in high demand amid the conflict in the middle east.
