The Gold Coast Titans have ended months of speculation over the future of coach Des Hasler, confirming this season will be his last at the club.

Despite being under contract for 2026, Hasler has a clause that allows the club to terminate his deal if the Titans fail to make the top 8.

They currently sit last on the NRL ladder.

Hasler arrived on the Gold Coast after the sacking of Justin Holbrook in 2023.

His appointment brought plenty of hope to long-suffering Titans fans, but that hope faded fast.

The side finished 13th in 2024 and is now battling to avoid the wooden spoon in 2025, having notched up just five wins this season.

The Titans have thanked Hasler for his service.

“His deep knowledge, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been evident every day he has worked with our club,” Titans Chairman Dennis Watt said.

“While this season hasn’t gone as planned, Des has conducted himself with the dignity and class that has defined his entire career.”

Hasler will remain at the helm for the Titans’ final two games of the season.

But his departure from the Titans is likely to end the 64-year-old’s coaching career after more than 500 games.
