BREAKING: Major power outage on northern Gold Coast

Hundreds of people are without power this morning due to an outage on the northern Gold Coast.

Coomera is the worst-affected suburb with 1,467 homes and businesses currently offline, following the fault around 7am.

There are also a handful of customers impacted in Upper Coomera.

The outage has also impacted dozens of sets of traffic lights across the area.

Energex says it is still investigating the cause with crews on the ground looking into it.
