A measles alert has been issued for the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Public Health has confirmed there’s been a confirmed case in a male from Adelaide.
The man was exposed to the infection while overseas and travelled to the Gold Coast and back while unknowingly infectious.
Anyone who travelled on Flight JQ498 from Adelaide to the Gold Coast on Tuesday 5 August at 7:30am is being urged to monitor for symptoms.
While those who travelled on Flight JQ499 from the Gold Coast to Adelaide on Tuesday 5 August at 11:00am are also being urged to do the same.
“Measles is a highly contagious serious infection which can be associated with complications which can be severe,” Queensland Health said.
Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes and a red spotty rash.
