A resident has been assaulted after thieves tried to steal their car during an early morning break and enter in Robina.
A group of people broke into a home on Redbud Lane around 2.40am on Tuesday.
The thieves attempted to steal the occupants’ white Mercedes but were confronted by the owner.
While trying to flee the scene in the car, the group crashed it while reversing.
The owner was then assaulted by the group, suffering minor injuries, they did not require medical treatment.
The thieves fled in a white Jeep Cherokee and remain on the run.
Investigations are continuing.
