BREAKING: Woman's body found in park near Gold Coast highway

A crime scene has been declared at a park on the Gold Coast following the discovery of a woman’s body.

The grim find was made around 4pm on Tuesday at Cascade Gardens, just off the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach.

A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said the body has since been identified as a 57-year-old woman.

“Police will await the results of a postmortem to determine the cause of death ,” the spokesperson said.

Forensic officers have spent the night scouring the park as investigations continue.
