Firefighters have spent the night battling a blaze that has ripped through part of the Tamborine National Park.
The blaze broke out around 4pm on Tuesday on Tamborine Mountain.
Crews from the Queensland Fire Department and Queensland Parks and Wildlife rushed to the blaze.
Several remained on scene overnight to continue fighting the fire and monitor its progress.
While there has been no threat to property, a smoke alert had been issued late on Tuesday night.
Nearby residents were urged to keep windows and doors closed and to keep any respiratory medication close by.
Crews will continue monitoring the blaze today amid concerns about a rise in temperatures and winds.
Temperatures in the Hinterland are set to hit 31 degrees on Wednesday, while the city is set to see an increase in northerly winds.
Residents are urged to monitor conditions throughout the day.
