Drunk driver charged after almost driving off Burleigh Hill

A man has been charged after nearly driving a campervan off Burleigh Hill.

The incident happened on Saturday night when the man got into his vehicle before driving it through a barrier.

Bystanders were forced to step in to stop the van from going over the edge.

Police arrived a short time later, where the driver allegedly returned a positive breath test.

The 38-year-old has since been charged with drink-driving.

He will front court at a later date.
