An elderly man has died after a collision while riding a mobility scooter in Upper Coomera.
The 85-year-old was travelling on Heathwood Drive in Upper Coomera around 1.40pm on Monday.
The man’s scooter and a Hyundai Santa Fe collided in the northbound lanes.
The rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
However, the man died in hospital on Tuesday morning.
The 43-year-old male driver of the car was not injured and returned a negative roadside breath test at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the accident.
