Multiple fire crews are battling a blaze which has broken out in Pimpama, shutting off part of a major roadway.
The fire broke out near the Go Kart Track along Pimpama Jacobs Well Road around 2.45pm on Thursday.
There are currently 9 fire crews battling the flames and more have been tasked to the scene.
It’s believed the blaze has spread over an area that is roughly 200m by 50m.
Emergency services have shut off part of Pimpama Jacobs Well Road while they get the blaze under control and people have been urged to avoid the area.
There is also a large power outage in the area impacting over 1,000 homes and businesses. Suburbs impacted include Pimpama, Ormeau, Norwell, Jacobs Well, Gilberton and Woongoolba.
