Firies battle early morning blaze at northern Gold Coast business

Fire crews have managed to douse a business fire on the northern Gold Coast this morning.

The blaze erupted inside the ceiling of a butcher shop on Motorway Circuit in Ormeau around 5am before spreading to the roof.

Four crews rushed to the scene and battled the flames, managing to have the inferno out around 5.20am.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The cause is not yet known, with investigators to head back to the scene today to try and piece together what sparked it.
