Police are investigating a second arson attack on the Gold Coast in just two days.

A ute bearing false number plates was rammed into Drip City Jewellers on James Street in Burleigh Heads around 2.40am this morning.

Police say the vehicle was then set slight, with flames ripping through both the vehicle and the store.

The masked offenders then fled the scene in a waiting getaway car.

A crime scene has been established at the business, with detectives looking into whether this morning’s attack is linked to another fiery ram raid which destroyed a car wash in Arundel yesterday.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
