Council has confirmed an event will be held on the Gold Coast next week, to honour those who were impacted by the Bondi terror attack.

Acting Mayor Mark Hammel met with leaders of the local Jewish community today to offer condolences and the City’s support following the tragic events on Sunday.

“In consultation with these leaders, we will host a community event at HOTA Outdoor stage next Monday night which will bring together our Jewish community, other faith groups and the general public to lay flowers, light candles and to reflect together,” Mr Hammel said in a statement.

“Details will be finalised and communicated in coming days.”

The Acting Mayor also confirmed city assets will “light-up” white from tonight to pay tribute to those who lost their lives.

“I would continue to encourage Gold Coasters to look out for one another during this incredibly difficult time.”
