The Gold Coast University Hospital’s new-look emergency department is officially being unveiled today.

More than than $1.7 million has been spent on improving the ambulance patient transfer and triage area in Queensland’s busiest emergency department.

Some of the upgrades include seven new stretcher bays, reconfigured triage for patient transfers, and a dedicated space for mental health and neurodiverse presentations.

More details about the reconfigured emergency department are expected to be revealed later today.
