Two hikers have been found safe and well following a late-night search and rescue mission in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The alarm was raised around 11pm on Monday after the 19-year-old men became disorientated while going for a hike at Springbrook National Park near Currumbin Creek Road.

The rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene around 2.20am this morning to retrieve the men.

Both were initially assessed as uninjured, but they have been taken to Archerfield airbase for further medical assessment.

There are no further details available at this time.
