More than 1,100 homes and businesses on the Gold Coast are without power this morning because of an outage.
According to Energex, there are 653 customers in Nerang being impacted along with 459 in Gaven.
The affected area includes homes in streets surrounding major roads including Smith St, Nerang Connection Rd and Southport Nerang Rd.
Energex says it is investigating the cause of the outage.
However, it is unable to give a timeframe for when power will be restored.
The blackout is also impacting a number of sets of traffic lights in the area.
