A new poll shows the Labor government facing electoral wipeout at the October state election with the party’s only Gold Coast MP also staring down the barrel of defeat.

The You Gov poll published in NewsCorp papers shows the change of Premier has had little impact on voters.

Labor’s primary support has slipped even further to just 27 per cent, while the LNP’s primary support is up to 44 per cent.

The result is Labor’s worst since 2012 and is 13 points lower than the 2020 election.

On a two-party preferred basis, the LNP holds a commanding 56-44 lead.

If replicated at the October election, that could see Labor lose at least 21 seats.

Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon would be among those in the government to be turfed out with her seat of Gaven in danger of falling to the opposition.

The poll also sees support for the Greens up six points, while Pauline Hanson’s One Nation is up three points.
