A man has been charged following an alleged serious assault in Upper Coomera.
Police allege the 43-year-old man entered a property on Fleur Court in Upper Coomera at around 9pm on Friday night armed with a baseball bat.
A verbal altercation has broken out with a 50-year-old male resident, who Police say are loosely known to each other.
The 43-year-old is then alleged to have struck the other man several times with the baseball bat before leaving the home and getting into his vehicle.
The 50-year-old man then followed the victim outside before the 43-year-old is alleged to have deliberately struck the older man with his vehicle twice before leaving the scene.
The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The 43-year-old was later tracked down to a home in Highland Park and was taken into custody.
He has since been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and enter dwelling and commit an indictable offence acts.
