A man has been arrested following a four-hour long stolen car chase across the Gold Coast.

The white Audi Q5 was stolen from a home on Armstrong Way at Highland Park around 8.30am on Thursday.

Police say the vehicle was later spotted travelling with another stolen car, a white MG ZS, sparking a covert operation as officers tracked the vehicles through a number of suburbs including Nerang, Oxenford, and Robina.

The Audi was then sighted in Oxenford around 5.50pm and tracked throughout the Gold Coast by officers with assistance from Polair before a tyre deflation device was deployed, stinging the vehicle in Maudsland around 9.45pm.

The vehicle continued travelling along the Old Pacific Highway before coming to a stop just south of Kopps Road where the driver jumped out of the vehicle before running into nearby bushland.

The 21-year-old Oxenford man was taken into custody a short time later, however charges are yet to be laid.

The other stolen vehicle remains at large, with investigations ongoing.
