A man has been charged after allegedly threatening staff at a Gold Coast pharmacy with a knife before stealing medication.
The man is accused of entering the Priceline Pharmacy on Marine Parade in Coolangatta at around 7.15am on Tuesday.
He is then alleged to have produced a knife and demanded prescription meds.
Workers complied before the man allegedly locked himself in a staff kitchen.
Police attended a short time later before forcing their way into the meal room and arresting the man.
A 23-year-old Lismore man has since been charged with two counts of stealing and one count of armed robbery.
He is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
