A man is due to front court today charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Logan.

According to police, an argument broke out between two men who are known to each other on Claredon Street at Bethania just before 6pm on Saturday.

“A 62-year-old man allegedly shot a 35-year-old man twice, once in the shoulder and once in the chest,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

The victim, a 35-year-old Bethania man, was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 62-year-old Bethania man was arrested and has since been charged with one count each of attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and fail to securely store weapon.

He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
